Objectives

The main aim of this course is to train professionals to engage in management, advisory and organisational roles in production or service companies. Their training will enable them to manage and interpret market opportunities, assign resources, manage information, recruit and develop personnel and make decisions to achieve objectives in the institution in which they work.

Competences

Students should acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical abilities, as well as the tools and ability to manage resources, needed to work professionally in their specialist field. They should be capable of analysing and synthesising information; solving problems; organising and planning; making decisions; working as part of a team and adapting to changing contexts, based on an ethical and social commitment.

They should understand the workings, management and supervision of the different areas of the company, and in particular: organisation, marketing, financial analysis, accounting and human resources, as well as the social and economic aspects of the company's situation. Graduates in this discipline must use logical thought, and be creative and intuitive in their professional practice.

Student profile

Students on this degree course should be interested in the workings and management of companies; company organisation, human resource organisation, cost information and social and political issues; a gift for analysis and synthesis, understanding and abstraction, creativity and a broad-based view of the world and the company's role in society.

Professional opportunities and officially regulated professions

Graduates in Business Administration and Management will have received wide-ranging training, and as such will be able to perform a wide range of managerial and technical activities, either in private companies or as civil servants.

These activities include: business start-ups and management; purchasing, operations and marketing management; finance and human resources; teaching; civil service access; auditing; business consultancy; economic analysis and supervision of business management; analysis of management and information systems in companies.
