The goals of this Master's degree are in line with the stipulates of the Spanish Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (MECES) and ensure the achievement of the basic competencies required to obtain a master's degree, following article 3.3, Appendix I of R.D. 1393/2007.
Fulfilment of the goals means students have achieved competencies that must be consistent with the fundamental rights of equality between men and women, with the principles of equal opportunities and universal accessibility for the disabled, and with the values proper to a democratic and peace-loving culture.
The main objective of the master's degree in Intercultural Communication, Translation and Interpretation in Public Services is to prepare translators and interpreters to develop their professional work in the field of public services that assist foreign populations. Given that these organizations are very diverse, such as police stations, courts and health centers, and the assistance of a translator and/or interpreter may be required in all of these institutions, in this master's degree students will specialize to develop their work in the health field, legal and administrative. Therefore, students will be trained in both translation and interpretation and interlinguistic and intercultural mediation for public services.
This specialization will be carried out in the language combination that the student chooses, including: Chinese-Spanish, Arabic-Spanish, English-Spanish, French-Spanish and Russian-Spanish.
The master's degree has a professional but also research perspective for those students who want to pursue doctoral studies.
