Goals and competencies

The goals of this Master's degree are in line with the stipulates of the Spanish Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (MECES) and ensure the achievement of the basic competencies required to obtain a master's degree, following article 3.3, Appendix I of R.D. 1393/2007.

Fulfilment of the goals means students have achieved competencies that must be consistent with the fundamental rights of equality between men and women, with the principles of equal opportunities and universal accessibility for the disabled, and with the values proper to a democratic and peace-loving culture.

Number of places for new students

Total number of places available: 20

Reserved places: 5% for students with a certified disability of 33% or more.

Specific admission conditions

ENTRY PROFILE

Students must meet:

- academic profiles within the study field of History and Humanities, preferably having studied subjects in Prehistory, Archaeology and Archaeological Heritage.

- profiles with experience in practical work related to Archaeology and Archaeological heritage management in museums or regional, national and international Institutions.

- those who have studied subjects with applications to Archaeology and have suitable educational backgrounds, such as Biology, Anthropology or some Fine Arts specialisations

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

For admission, application files will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:

  1. The academic record average and, if applicable (students with experience in Archaeology and Heritage Management), their level of experience.
  2. The adaptation of undergraduate training to the contents of the Master's degree, with priority given to the curricular itineraries related to Archaeology and Heritage Management.
  3. Knowledege of English at level B2, to be proven by means of the relevant qualification in relation to European standards. This level of English must be documented by certificates issued by authorised institutions. The B2 level of English is compulsory.
  4. A personal interview.

In the event that the demand is greater than the supply of places, all the above criteria will be assessed on the following basis:

  • 70% Academic record.
  • 15% Adequacy of the Bachelor's Degree to the contents of the Master's Degree.
  • 10% Personal interview.
  • 5% Knowledge of foreign language.
