Objetivos
Las redes de sensores inteligentes se están aplicando en la actualidad en muchos ámbitos: seguridad y vigilancia, defensa, monitorización en la industria, domótica, bioingeniería, inspección no destructiva de materiales, etc. La posibilidad de combinar la información suministrada por múltiples sensores o agrupaciones de sensores, homogéneos o heterogéneos, gracias a la evolución de las redes de comunicación, ha permitido extender la aplicabilidad y fomentado la investigación para resolver grandes retos sociales. El grupo de investigación viene trabajando en estas líneas desde hace años, desde dos grupos diferenciados: “Sound Signal Processing” y “High Frequency Technologies”. No obstante, la colaboración ha sido intensa desde el principio, habiendo participado en proyectos conjuntos, generado publicaciones de impacto, dirigido tesis, y consiguiendo financiación en proyectos competitivos y de colaboración con empresas.
El objeto del grupo es la realización de investigación de excelencia sobre redes de sensores inteligentes, heterogéneas y dinámicas, desarrollando algoritmos de procesado centralizado y distribuido, de aplicación a algunos de los principales retos sociales: seguridad y defensa, ciudades y hogar inteligentes, salud y bienestar social, etc.

- Instrumentación de medida en el margen de frecuencias de microondas.
- Herramientas de simulación para el diseño de dispositivos y circuitos de microondas.
- Herramientas de simulación de la sección radar monostática y biestática de blancos.
- Software de resolución de problemas electromagnéticos en estructuras diseñadas CAD
- Software de simulación de la propagación electromagnética en diferentes escenarios.
- Demostrador radar pasivo que constituye una plataforma de investigación de técnicas de procesado usando datos reales adquiridos por el sistema.
C) Cluster de computación de altas prestaciones, con GPUs de alta capacidad.
Servicios
- Transferencia tecnológica a empresas del sector tecnológico y a administraciones:
• Diseño de sistemas de vigilancia basados en sensores radar activos y pasivos: infraestructuras críticas, control de fronteras, gestión del litoral, monitorización de tráfico aéreo, marítimo y terrestre, detección de drones, etc.
• Técnicas de procesado de imágenes para aplicaciones SAR: gestión de áreas forestales, campos de cultivo, zonas urbanizadas, recursos naturales; detección de vertidos y barcos, gestión de catástrofes, de contingentes militares, de operaciones de salvamento, etc.
• Diseño y optimización de dispositivos de microondas y sistemas de antenas.
• Análisis de sistemas de comunicaciones y sensores embarcados en plataformas terrestres, marítimas o aéreas.
• Planificación y simulación de servicios de radiocomunicación.
- Formación especializada en tratamiento digital de señales, radar, ultrasonidos e inspección no destructiva, acústica en la industria, inteligencia artificial.
