Goals and competencies

The goals of this Master's degree are in line with the stipulates of the Spanish Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (MECES) and ensure the achievement of the basic competencies required to obtain a master's degree, following article 3.3, Appendix I of R.D. 1393/2007.

Fulfilment of the goals means students have achieved competencies that must be consistent with the fundamental rights of equality between men and women, with the principles of equal opportunities and universal accessibility for the disabled, and with the values proper to a democratic and peace-loving culture.

Micro-Master`s Degrees

This Master's offers any student the possibility to study a selection of subjects compounding a Postgraduate Short Course, which will enable the student, if requested at the end of the course, to obtain an Own Studies Degree title from the University of Alcalá.

After finishing the subjects, the student could apply, paying the corresponding fees, for a Certificate of the Postgraduate Short Course. Besides, if the student wants to complete the Master's in the future, the subjects finished in the Postgraduate Short Course will automatically be incorporated into the student's academic record at no cost.

Pre-registration and matriculation for these Postgraduate Short Courses will follow the usual procedure of pre-registration and matriculation.

The Short Courses included in the Master's are:

Minimum number of places for a specialisation to be taught: 8

Reserved places: 5% for students with a certified disability of 33% or more.

Specific admission conditions

Requirements and admission criteria

1. Applicants must provide proof of proficiency in the working languages at the following levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or equivalent (see levels recommended by CRUE) with an official certificate of international recognition:

  • Spanish native speakers (Spanish – language A):
    • first foreign language (language B) with level C1
    • second foreign language (language C) with level B2.
  • Non-native Spanish speakers:
    • languages A and B with level C1
    • second foreign language (language C), among those offered with level B2.

2. The student's previous training and experience in the field of interpreting and related areas will be an asset.

3. The curriculum vitae of applicants and their academic records will be assessed.

4. Candidates must pass an entrance test to determine their level of proficiency in the working languages and their aptitude for interpreting.
